Useful INFOGRAPHIC: Which supplements are backed by science and which are 'snake-oil'
note how many times it is said that no supplements are needed if you have a balanced daily complete diet Something which I have never seen published anywhere is a daily diet that meets all the RDA within daily calorie expectations and does not contain any items that are required every single day to meet that goal.. The reason people take multi-vitamins is specifically because they aren't getting everything they need in their diet. The fact that the industry knows that bio-availability is a significant issue and yet does not demand a way to assess the efficacy of a particular formulation is not a surprise since the profit motive is stronger than the desire to make a difference. Then again- lack of scientific evidence because no one will fund a study should not be conflated with actual studies that showed no significant impact.
