about Pinterest in May 2012, Pinterest, the virtual pinboard, had 11.7 million users. By November 2012, it had about 40 million. Despite rampant growth, Pinterest is still much smaller than Facebook, which had 1 billion monthly visitors in October 2012, and Twitter, which had 640 million active accounts in December 2012 (according to Mashable ). However, a Quicksprout study found that users spend an average of 77 minutes on Pinterest, while they spend only 12.1 minutes on Facebook and 36 minutes on Twitter. Therefore, Pinterest seems to have the fewest users, but perhaps the most usefulness and value.
