A key element in the life of any building service equipment, and therefore any building, is the commissioning. Although it sounds very mundane, this is actually the stage of the building lifecycle that can mean the difference between success and failure in meeting sustainability goals. To understand why this is so important, we need to first look at the whole lifecycle of a system and realise that there are important elements in each of the four stages of a product’s useful working life.
