Government’s Construction Strategy a step in the right direction, says UK-GBC Date released: 2 Jul 2013 The UK Green Building Council has today welcomed the publication of the Construction Strategy which outlines the Government’s long-term vision for the UK construction sector. Sustainability is a key theme of the strategy, with a commitment that by 2025 the UK will have a construction industry that “leads the world in low-carbon and green construction exports.” John Alker, Director of Policy and Communications at UK-GBC, said: “We welcome publication of the Construction Strategy, which makes it clear that sustainability can act as a stimulus for growth, provide export opportunities and drive innovation right across the supply chain. The challenge now for Government is to ensure that the ambition translates into action, by providing clarity on issues like zero carbon homes...
