If you missed our #RatingTools debate, read our summary: and add a comment on @UKGBCPinpoint
In November 2013 over 70 delegates attended the UK-GBC rating tool debate, held at Derwent London’s White Collar Factory. The topic promised to be controversial, particularly in light of the Government’s recent Housing Standards Review consultation which proposes to phase out the Code for Sustainable Homes. Rating tools have existed for over 20 years in the UK with the number of tools, and the breadth of building types and lifecycle stages that they cover increasing over the years. They have undoubtedly played a major role in advancing sustainability decisions within the built environment, however, they have also been accused of being restrictive, burdensome and costly. This is a summary of the key issues raised in the debate.
