Currently there are more questions than answers with regard to the implications and a degree of educated crystal ball gazing is required to speculate what might happen in the lead up to 2018 and beyond. What we do know is that the market contains a significant quantity of non-compliant properties, estimated at around 20 per cent, so this is potentially an issue of scale. The million dollar question (literally) is whether the implications will affect the value of property across the UK. Property is generally valued by a Chartered Surveyor who is a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) registered valuer. RICS produce guidelines and rules as to how property should be valued.
