Our world has depended heavily on fossil fuels since the development of the automobile. Unfortunately, we are discovering more and more that they pose serious dangers to our environment. Fossil fuels are also a nonrenewable resource, so global leaders are looking for alternative energy sources. Offshore wind power is a new concept that might help. Offshore Wind Power Could Help Reach Goal to End Fossil Fuels by 2050 In 2014, the United Nations created a proposal to end dependence on fossil fuels by 2050 . Unfortunately, most countries are having difficulty moving towards this goal, because many green energy sources haven’t proven to be as prolific as we hoped.
