UK Green Building Council calls for stability and support from Government's Budget 2013 Date released: 24 Oct 2012 The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) has submitted its recommendations to the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) as part of its inquiry into Budget 2013, focussing on how the Government should be supporting a green economy in the context of its intention to secure economic growth. In its response to the inquiry, UK-GBC: Argues that the built environment offers the most cost effective carbon mitigation of any other sector Highlights a huge opportunity for encouraging job creation and green growth through energy efficient, low carbon buildings - particularly through retrofit Calls for stability from Government to instill confidence in investors and businesses Proposes long-term (probably fiscal) incentives to help realise the potential of the Green Deal Calls...
