Lack of clarity on Part L is reaching farcical proportions. Government must act now on zero carbon

The call follows the publication of a Department for Communities and Local Government document setting out which measures will come into force between now and the end of the year. The document fails to mention Part L. John Alker, Director of Policy and Communication at UK-GBC, said: “The lack of clarity on Part L is reaching farcical proportions. CLG have been ready for months, the hold-up seems to be other parts of Government who have adopted the policy of sticking their fingers in their ears when the industry is screaming for action. “Despite the delay, this needn’t knock the 2016 zero carbon commitment off course – as long as Government gets on with clarifying carbon compliance and Allowable Solutions.”
