UK-GBC welcomes uplift and clarity on Part L

In a written statement, the Government confirmed there will be a 6 per cent uplift in efficiency standards of new homes and a 9 per cent improvement in non domestic buildings over Part L 2010 Building Regulations. Government also confirmed it will publish a consultation on the means of delivering Allowable Solutions “shortly”. The amended regulations will be laid before Parliament shortly, with the changes coming into force on 6 April 2014. John Alker, Director of Policy and Communications at UK-GBC , said: “There can be no excuses for the length of time this has taken, but finally industry has the clarity on Part L that it craves.
