The top 30 US metro areas for #walkability produce higher GDP & mark the end of car dominance

A new report ranks the top 30 metropolitan areas in the USA on the amount of commercial development in Walkable Urban Places (see below for the table). It finds that higher education levels and one third higher GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per capita correlate with the provision of walkable places . This is a startling statistic, although the report cautions that determining if there are causal relationships will require further research.
