The Great Prefab Debate [Live Tomorrow]

As you may know, I have a lot of interest in factory-built homes and prefabricated construction techniques. Some of this comes from living in Japan and seeing how big companies like Panasonic, Sanyo, and Toyota fabricate their homes. The rest comes from a fascination with homes and technology, as well as years of writing on the topic – can you believe we have nearly 340 articles about green prefabs . One article in our archives has been extremely popular. A few years ago, in the fall of 2008, I remember reading some kind of opinion on prefab by Chad Ludeman, founder of Post Green Homes , the firm behind the 100k House . So I emailed him: “Chad, you interested in writing a guest post for JG that goes something like: ‘Thoughts on Why Prefab is NOT the Answer’ or ‘Why Prefab is NOT the Answer’ etc. It’d be fun to read.
