About The private garden is a narrative that resonates deeply with the owner’s vision and psyche. There is a rich conversation among geometry, scale, architecture, and context. We must be great listeners and even better story tellers, weaving the owner’s personalities into a project that is both art and garden. Objectives Learn the importance of being a great listener and building trust with clients. Study how to build a transparent working relationship with both client and contractor. Understand how to tease out personal narrative, architecture, and site into the creation of art and garden. Examine the roles played by site context, urban or rural, and the contrasting functions of front and back yards.
